Congratulations on taking your first steps to attend our biggest, brightest HeartShine State pageant event ever! There is so much excitement in store for you at our tenth-year celebration, and we are excited to welcome YOU to be a part of the fun.

The HeartShine nationwide team has reimagined our entire HeartShine State pageant weekend and state scholarship award packages. Along with all the beloved annual state weekend favorites like the Think Pink Pajama Party and the Royal Sisterhood Dinner, new surprises await you around every corner at this year's MISS CALIFORNIA HEARTSHINE STATE PAGEANT, Presidents Day weekend 2022 in SACRAMENTO, CA.

The first packet includes host hotel information, fees and payment information, competition at-a-glance, and more.

The second packet includes more specific information about the Optional Contests, contestant entry forms, and general tips and tricks.

In the third contestant packet you'll find all the remaining information you need to Shine your brightest at State!

Age Categories

Miss California HeartShine is all ALL-AGES pageant with categories for Ambassadors (boys/men/Pride) as well!

All competitors will only compete with contestants in their own age division for the Overall Queen/King ("Miss California") title. Inquire for more official age division information and to know which category you would be competing in.

Required Areas of Competition

The four overall segments of required competition are all scored based on our "inner-beauty" standard. We are looking for authenticity, poise, and leadership skills.

Required Areas of Competition:

1. Personal Introduction (under 45 secs)

2. Interview (personality & leadership)

3. Formal Wear

4. On-Stage Question

HeartShine's innovative scoring criteria, along with our commitment to the ideals of our progressive, body-positive pageant system, are part of what makes HeartShine truly unique!

Entry Fee/Scholarship

Here at HeartShine, we do not require our contestants to sell any amount of program sponsorship, we do not collect additional scholarship fees or hidden donations, and we will not have any "surprise" fees come pageant weekend.

Your deposit, along with your $399 entry fee, is all you need to compete for the title of Miss California HeartShine (your division), receive your representative crown and sash, and join in the fun of our 10th year celebration at State Pageant weekend.

Miss HeartShine California Queens/Ambassadors are also entitled to huge cash scholarships at the end of a successful reign as Queen/King!
